A Breath of Fresh Air Is Possible

af76fa1e038817477675f2dadc1f421c

God has blessed me so far with 26 years of triumphs and challenges, setbacks and comebacks, and  cringe-worthy and life-defining moments. I cannot say “I DID THIS,.” All that has happened is by the grace and divine providence of God.

The Enemy tries to make situations impossible. He fights hard when he knows a breakthrough is coming. Keep going with God as your compass and foundation. Life is possible because of Jesus Christ. Every day is not easy but with God all things are possible.

I encourage you with this scripture for each season of life and for each day. Life is possible.

A Need for Fresh Air

There is a stereotype that Christians are always happy and are supposed to be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Well, I am not one of those people. I am a Christian but I am a sinful, fallen human being. There are days where the joy of the Lord is my strength and some days I am weary and tired living in the mundane. I am the latter today.

Real Situation: I woke up not wanting to attend church, not wanting to serve in Guest Services for early service, not wanting to do anything. It was a struggle but I found some strength and will to attend church. In church, my back pain caused me not to stand for long. I just sat and enjoyed service. It felt like a Christian fail with Monday tendencies.  I was just having one of those days.

A wise person once told me “The choice is yours to be happy, sad, or mad…but not to stay there.” Don’t stay in the pain. Use God’s truths to give you strength even in the low points. You may not understand but fight the spirit of doubt and fear with REAL TRUTH.

I may be frustrated and tired but I chose to try not to stay in my emotions. God is still my refuge. I triumph because my Savior is active and alive. I will not be put to shame. I may be sad but I will not be shaken. God is still my Solid Rock and Foundation.  I may be down but I am not out. The Enemy is defeated

So end, I give you Psalm 16:

Keep me safe, my God,
    for in you I take refuge.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
    apart from you I have no good thing.”
I say of the holy people who are in the land,
    “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
    I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
    or take up their names on my lips.

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
    you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.
 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
    even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
    With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
    nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Triumph

Blissfully,

A Breath of Fresh Air

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.-Psalm 119:105

As I was on the open road driving 6 hours from Atlanta to Jacksonville, FL, I was thinking of my mom’s prayer that morning: “Lord, I want to drive Bianca to Florida but I know I have to let her go. I know you will prepare the way for her…even when I am not on this Earth.” (to paraphrase).

I drove thinking about my mom praying for peace because her little girl was changing before her eyes.  My walk with the Lord has caused me to grow and change. The old Bianca seems like a distant memory. I am emerging into a different Bianca.  My parents notice.  Sometimes I feel like I do not recognize the Bianca I am today. I do know that God is doing a good work in me.

It is not easy to step outside of your comfort zone or security. But, Jesus says I will never leave nor forsake you.  He will not reveal the master plan. Instead, He gives you the provision you need for every step. To be where I am took so much faith, prayer, and boldness. Even when I detour, the Holy Spirit brings me back to the path God has called me to walk.

 His Word will be the lamp where I walk when I cannot see through trials and difficulty. The darkness does not overcome the light. His Word is a light to illuminate my purpose according to His Will. No matter how distant you are, you can find your way back to Him.

He has the path and the light. In order for His promises to be real to you and me, you just have to take the step of obedience one foot in front of the other.

Be Blessed Friends.

Distant

Jesus Reprieves the Human Race

cross-1

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.-John 3:16-17

We, as sinners, were meant for judgment away from the God of the Universe.  But God sent His Son to reprieve our imminent punishment. You are worth saving. You are worth Him going to the Cross. Believe in Jesus. Live with eternal hope in the mist of a fallen world.

Reprieve

A Breath of Fresh, Healing Air

Hi Friends,

It has been a while since I have posted, but I am back. My Breath of Fresh, Healing Air is  Faith, Strength, and Perseverance in the valley leads to a Testimony proclaiming His strength and goodness.

May 21st is a monumental day. It has been two years since my sister’s successful, bone marrow transplant. My sister lived with Sickle Cell Anemia for 20 years.  It came to a point where she could not live in chronic pain forever. There were hills and valleys she experienced. Having a bone marrow transplant was a risk. There was doubt, uncertainty, and fear on all fronts but GOD is greater than human emotion. My sister persevered and believed in her healing. We stepped in faith. We believed and persevered. She came out stronger than before.

When people hear my sister’s story, they ask “How did you get through this?” Faith. Strength. Perseverance.

We, as humans, are not promised a perfect life. Jesus was the perfect man yet He suffered and died on the Cross. In spite of His suffering, Jesus had faith in His Father’s Will, Jesus had strength even though people thought He was crazy and delusional, and Jesus persevered in hills and valleys to come out strong in His Father’s Victory.

Follow the example of Jesus. Have faith that God is working on your behalf; He has a plan for your life. Ask God for strength. He will give you His strength, strength that humans cannot understand. Persevere and finish the race. Your victory is coming!!

James 1:2-4, 12 –Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 -Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Romans 5:1-4 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Blissfully,

Bianca

A Sacrifice I Could Not Handle

easter-cross No sacrifice is superior to the One Sacrifice on Calvary.

Jesus sacrificed Himself, the spotless Lamb to save me. The road to Calvary was long, hard, and unfathomable. To be honest, I could not do what Jesus did: Save Humanity.

God gave His Son to the world, even though they would say “Crucify Him.” Jesus loved even to the point of death. He died for you and me. He did not have to but He did. He rose in victory so you and I could have victory. I could not do the impossible. The impossible was possible. The sacrifice was possible. Jesus was the Possible. He is the Possible. He still is the Possible. He will be the Possible. For that, I am thankful for my Risen Savior.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”-Mark 10:45

A Breath of Fresh, Prudent Air

Being prudent is more than knowing more than the person next to you. Life is more than being the sharpest crayon in the box.

God gives the standard of prudence in His Word. Longevity and prudent character comes from God.

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young—let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance—for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.-Proverbs 1:1-7

Being prudent is acknowledging Jesus as the foundation and compass to your life, listening to the wise people who have come before you and giving the wisdom to the next generation, being fair to others, having discernment in different situations, and continuing to seek wisdom.

Being prudent is a process. One of the definitions of prudent means acting with or showing care and thought for the future. I am learning more and gaining more wisdom and knowledge as I grow in my faith and age. God gives His wisdom and instruction freely but one has to be willing to listen. So I encourage you to listen, discern, and live the way God wants you to live.

Prudent

A Breath of Fresh Air

There are many times where I get lost in life. I lose myself and allow self destruction to make me feel inadequate. It is only the Enemy’s scheme is steal, kill, and destroy my joy.

With Jesus, He calls you and me, Beloved. He provides for all our needs. He makes us whole. He is everything and more. He takes the broken pieces and our mess and gives us grace, peace, mercy, and purpose.

No matter where you are or how broken you feel, Jesus still loves and values you. You can never go wrong with following God.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Vivid

My Breath of Fresh Air is Trust that Your Circumstances will get Better with God’s Help and Guidance.

I say this because I am currently struggling with this. I am having to learn to trust that where I am 62675570cd34e8cedc30bc9ef946c6b2is where God wants me to be. I have found myself anxious…as usual. I think it is because even though I am graduating in December, the great beyond (i.e. taking the Bar and finding employment) has been lingering. My peers are heading into their futures and I feel left behind. Then, I question my path and then doubt sets in. And the downward spiral of doubt keeps going.

BUT my path is already known to the Creator. He can see the vivid landscape of my life. I have had to read Scripture and be encouraged by my parents of the promises of God.  So I encourage you all to rely on the promises of God. Whatever issues you are going through, God is not blind to them. Follow His lead (because we all know that if we lead, we mess it up). Wherever you are, there is a purpose. I still have to remember those truths so do not get discouraged. Obediently follow the vivid path God has laid out.

Here’s what God says about our path:

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”-Joshua 1:9

 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.-2 Corinthians 4:7-9

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.-Proverbs 3:5-6

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.-James 1:2-5

There is more truth in His Word for you. Hang in there, friends. God’s got us.

Blissfully,

Bianca

A Breath of Fresh Love

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.-1 Corinthians 13:4-8
I have heard this scripture spoken at weddings but this can apply to any person in any stage of life. Have you ever replaced “Love” with your name? Are you patient? kind? not self-seeking? As I replace love with Bianca, I do not add up because I fall short. I strive to be all these qualities.  Jesus was all these qualities and then some. So do not forget, whether married or single, you are still called to love as Jesus loved and show the qualities and character of love. Ask God to give you those qualities. You can never go wrong with following God.

Bianca
