A Breath of Fresh Love

When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.-John 13: 12-17

So to give you context, in this passage, Jesus is washing his disciple’s feet. Jesus, without hesitation, did the job that was beneath His glory. It did not matter to Him that people questioned why because He knew why. Our world needs the weird love. By weird love, I mean to go outside of our comfort zone and help our brothers and sisters who are not the same. We live in a world with many different tribes, ethnicities, religions, and ideals. No person is greater than another. Jesus reached out, loved his disciples, served his disciples, and went to the Cross for the disciples and ALL of humanity. That my friends is love and service.  Jesus IS the standard of loving and serving people. So I would encourage you to love outside of your bubble.

Blissfully,

Bianca
